“Celebrate Spring” EVENTS


Bombay Jayashri Ramnath represents the fourth generation of music practitioners in her family. Jayashri has been groomed under the guidance of the legend Shri Lalgudi G Jayaraman and Smt T R Balamani. Jayashri, today not only bears the torch of the Lalgudi tradition, but has also evolved a distinct style of her own.

On 02 Feb 2014 evening, she performed along with H.N. Bhaskar Patri Satish Kumar and Udupi Shreedharin at Bangalore Gayana Samaja. The programme was kicked off with concert to a jam packed house with Bombay Jayashree Ramnath on vocals, H.N. Bhaskar on the violin, V.V. Ramanamurthy on mrudangam and U.N. Giridhar Udupa on the ghatam.

The Sri Rama Lalitha Kala Mandira was back with the 26th Karnatak Classical Music Festival. This year’s special was the Spring Festival presenting concerts at the Bangalore Gayana Samaja from 5.45 to 9 p.m.

The week-long festival was unique & one-of-its-kind musical celebration of classical music featuring a series of popular singers and musicians all on the same stage

Neela Ramgopal
This vocal concert by Neela Ramgopal on vocals, accompanied by Charulatha Ramanujam on violin, Poongulam S Subramanian on mridangam and Karthick on ghatam.

Rockstar Carnatic vocalist TM Krishna accompanied by RK Shriramkumar on violin, K Arun Prakash on mridangam and G Guruprasanna on kanjira.

Sanjay Subrahmanian 
Vocalist Sanjay Subrahmanian led a Carnatic concert accompanied by Avaneeswaram SR Vinu on violin, Mannargudi A Easwaran on mridangam and S Venkataramanan on kanjira.
Wed Feb 6, 5.45pm

S Shankar
S Shankar presented Carnatic vocal concert accompanied by violinist Mysore V Srikanth, mridangist KV Prasad and Ranganatha Chakravarthi on the ghatam.

Nithyasree Mahadevan
Carnatic vocalist Nityashree Mahadevan performed alongwith  MA Krishnaswamy on violin, I Shivakumar on mridangam and GS Ramanujam on ghatam
Fri Feb 8, 5.45pm

Vishaka Hari
Carnatic vocalist and Harikatha exponent Vishaka Hari presented Charulatha Ramanujam on violin, HS Sudhindra on mridangam and Sukanya Ramgopal on ghatam.
Sat Feb 9, 5.45pm

Sudha Raghunathan
The festival concluded with a concert by Sudha Raghunathan, Embar S Kannan on violin, Neyveli S Skandasubramanian on mridangam and R Raman on morsing.
Sun Feb 10, 5.45pm

This was an annual festival organised by the Bangalore Gayana Samaja.


02 FEBRUARY 2014 6.00 PM onwards


Budding talent and Hindustani Vocalist  Kum.Shreya K Udupa, trained under well known Pt.Vinayak Torvi and Vidushi Smt.Amrutha Deshpande, showed her pluck while performing before a discerning audience at B.P.Wadia Auditorium, Basavanagudi, Bangalore.


Commencing with an evening with a chote khyal in Raag Behag , she presented a Tarana in Raag Bhageshri and followed it up by an Abhang “sriram Jayaram” in Madhyam Saarang, Purandaradasa Bhajan in Raag Des and concluded the evening concert with Raag Bhairavi.

Backed by rich unique vocals and her rigorous riyaz under able guidance of Gurus since last 15 years, Shreya K Udupa can confidently elevate the bar in ensuing years, should minor flaws not pose her any impediment .
